DARK BOAR ROCKS!
That's the most common reaction we got at Sonora, from the patrons as well as the producers. We even made the Modesto Bee on Saturday!
Everything went very smoothly. The weather was perfect. We were allowed to start setting up at 9:30 am on Thursday, so we were ready for the kids on Friday. It seemed like we had about 100 people watching the children fight all day - hats off to Bjorn, Dracor and Wulfguar who probably died every five minutes for about four hours. Check out the Saturday (03/08) edition of the Modesto Bee - we're the featured group! (no-we haven't changed our name to the "Viking Sword" organization-just another lazy journalist).
Saturday was more of the same - lots of kids wanting to fight and a steady stream of interesting folks. The feast at the end of the day went pretty good, lots of leftovers!
On Sunday, the Vikings got to kidnap a Lady from the court of Mary Queen of Scots. We grabbed her in the open market area and held her for ransom. It was a great gig, the Scots seemed to enjoy it alot. Afterward, we were all recieved by the Queen and promised we wouldn't do it again (until the next time!).

Sonora Celtic Faire - Bjorn trys to keep Lady Sommerville under control - she was a fighter! As part of a gig with the Saint Andrews Guild, we had snatched the Lady from the open-air market and taken her back to our camp. Bjorn finally had to get out the shackles.
Within minutes, Mary Queen of Scots decends on our encampment with her Royal Guards, demanding we return the Lady.
Great Fun!!
Gerald and Mary Queen of Scots negotiate over the release of the Lady while Ragnar and his thengs look on.
